Happy February Everyone!!! Welcome to the Sundays With Crissy blog!! It's challenge time again and this month our theme is Birthdays!! Our blog is mostly about card making but if you want to enter another type of craft that incorporates stamping (digital or rubber) then show us what you've got. Please follow the birthday theme though.

I have a school fundraiser I am getting ready for and the goal is 20 cards of varying themes, all Crissy Armstrong images/Whimsy Stamps, by March 19th. Here is the first of the bunch (only 19 more to go--ahhhhh!!) I have to say I just love the way Crissy draws animals--she draws them the way I wish I could!! Her tigers are my favourites!! This image is one of her rubber images from Whimsy Stamps called "Tippy By The Tail".

This was my first time attempting clouds. Sorry the photo isn't great--looks way, way better in real life. I was pleased with how they turned out. They give your image so much more depth and dimension!!

Hello everyone! I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season! I was able to spend a quiet Christmas at home with my husband (we decided to skip all the travel and traffic this year and relax - soooo nice).

Well it is my turn to show you my creation for this month's challenge - beat the mid-winter blues. Feel free to interpret this challenge however you like - think warm and sunny, or as I did blue.

The image that I used is Stripes the Zebra - available from Kraftin' Kimmie. This has to be one of my favorite rubber stamps from Crissy - I use it for a variety of cards.

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to a brand new challenge for the New Year here at "Sundays with Crissy"!!

It's my turn to get you all warmed up and thaw out those creative juices, because our theme for January is... "Beat the Mid-Winter Blues!" You can interpret this however you want! Escaping Mid-Winter for you could mean sun and warmth, anything that screams beach, seaside, underwater, sunny, or tropical. Or maybe you will want to make a card in all blue tones. Or even just getting some crafting time in is your way of beating the mid-winter blues! This theme is up to your interpretation!

Of course this is easy peasy for me, considering we are actually in the middle of a heat-wave LOL!! I don't really have to stretch my imagination too far here in our Aussie summer! ;)

My beautiful niece has just had her 3rd birthday, so I chose to show you the card I made for her. It looks just like her (all blonde curls and blue eyes), and of course this time of year she loves to be out in the sunshine picking the flowers... perfect for our summery theme!

This image is the adorable "Gracie's Roses" by Crissy Armstrong (of course!), and is available from Whimsy Stamps.
The good news is my niece loved her card. She held it up to herself in front of the mirror and told her Mum "that's me"! - how cute is that?? Thanks Crissy!! ;)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! CHALLENGE #25--Beat The Mid-Winter Blues--Sarah's Turn

Happy New Year Everyone!! From all of us here at Sundays With Crissy, we wish you and those you love health, happiness, peace, joy, and prosperity for 2012! I trust you all ate too much, when to bed really late, and had way too much fun partying it up!! I spent my night making my project for this challenge (oh the procrastinator that I am--I feel a New Year's Resolution coming on--LOL). Also, sat down with Hub's and did some goal setting for the year. Not much partying here but that's okay, I feel inspired, I do!!

Now onto blog business....I have been off cruising the Caribbean, so a big thank you to Crissy for taking over for me for the month of December. A big thank you goes out to all of you who entered last month's challenge too--over 130 entries!! Woooohooo!! Now it's time for January's challenge!! This month we want you to think warm and sunny thoughts to Beat The Mid-Winter Blues!! For me, living in the land of ice and snow, that's anything that screams beach, seaside, underwater, sunny, or tropical, but you can interpret it your own way if you want. Maybe you will want to make a card in all blue tones, or maybe just getting some crafting time in is your way of beating the mid-winter blues! This theme is up to your interpretation!

For me, this challenge theme was perfect timing!! I am having cruise ship withdrawal and although I didn't actually see any mermaids while I was at sea, I did look for them!! All I saw was a bunch of flying fish & a stingray...not even a dolphin!! I must have been looking the other way, LOL!! Anyway, I couldn't wait to get some ink on my new rubber that recently came in and thought she was perfect for this challenge. The stamp is called "Journey Into The Sea" from Whimsy stamps.

I decided I'd make a journal to document my memories of the trip while it's all still fresh in my mind--Lord knows when I will actually sit my fanny down and scrapbook the actual trip!! In any case, this will make the journaling aspect a little easier when I finally do.

Hi! My name is Sharron & I live in southern California. I’ve been married to my best friend Frank since 1973 & am the proud mother of 3 amazing grown children Kim, Brett & Shawn. I’m also grandma to 2 beautiful girls Alexis & Shaye. I’ve loved paper crafting all of my life beginning with my Crayola crayons & paper dolls. My love affair with paper continued when I began rubber stamping & card making in the early 90’s. A few years ago I discovered Copic markers & digital stamping which has opened up a whole new world to me. I love anything vintage but don’t limit myself to that style. I’ve learned so much from my dear friends in the crafting community & I feel so blessed to be a part of Crissy’s Crew. I am in awe of her amazing talent & can’t wait to see what she creates next.

Hi! Jane here! I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends!! Are you itching to use those crafty goodies you've recieved?? I hope so! Today it is my turn to show you my card for the current challenge of "anything goes". Unfortunately my printer is broken and I'm on the look out for another one so this month I am using one of Crissy's gorgeous stamps for Whimsy Stamps, Jingle Bell Ride. I have stamped onto Kraft cardstock so that the white would be a striking contrast, and have coloured the image with both Copics and Prismacolor pencils. I love working with digital images, so when Crissy designed her December releases at Whimsy Stamps I knew right away that I wanted to create a winter scene using as many of the images as possible. Christmas is almost here!!

This is another submission to my "Anything Goes" challenge! I hope you will join us if you get a quiet moment over the next few days - the challenge runs til Dec 31st so there's still time to participate!

I have another card to show you today in which I used Zoe's "Make It Crafty Blending Card". I can't say enough great things about this paper. It is a total DREAM to work with! I recommend it for Copic beginners and experts alike. I get zero compensation for saying that, I am not affiliated with Zoe's store (we are just good friends!). But I am just in "paper love" with this stuff!! ha ha!

Before I go on with my card deets, I want to be a proud Mom here, and ask you to vote for my daughter Ashley! She is in a contest in which the winner gets a recording contract! You can go take a listen to her song HERE and vote for her!! It is for the MMG's top new song of 2011! She is in the TOP THREE!! Woot woot!! Please give her your support!!

I used my image for Whimsy that I called, "Cool Pony". I wanted to draw a Shetland pony because since I was a young girl I have thought that they are the cutest breed of pony! I love their shaggy mane and fetlocks and short little legs -- so cute!! ha ha

I am blessed to be married for almost 14 years to a man who is wonderfully tolerant of me and my paper and ink passion. We have two great kids – Shawn who is 6 and Emma who is 2. I am also originally from Singapore, emigrated to Australia with family in my teens and now to USA for work in Corporate America. My husband and I have been in the US for over 15 years. I discovered scrapbooking and card making 6 years ago when my son was born. He inspired me to start creating. For me, there is something liberating about experimenting with different materials to see what new and special things I can come up with. Since then, I have had some wonderful opportunities to earn a living papercrafting – selling my greeting cards through my own company, Arty Carty Handmade Cards. That’s about it. As you can see it's new challenge time again here at "Sundays with Crissy"!!
We have an easy one for December... it's everyone's favourite - "Anything Goes!"

Welcome to another new challenge at Sundays With (yours truly) Crissy! I'm giving Sarah, my DT co-ordinator a bit of a break, so I'm filling in for her today.

I wanted to make this an easy peasy challenge because I realize this time of the year can be a very busy time. So if you do join in, feel free to create as your heart tells you, and enjoy the process! It's Anything Goes!

On my card, I used "Little Artist", a digital image I did for Whimsy Stamps which was released last month. I printed her on a light brown/grey pastel paper and coloured her with pencil crayons. I see so many cards these days where people have coloured the image with pencil crayons on Kraft paper. I don't have any Kraft yet, so I thought the pastel paper I happened to have in my stash would do the trick. I think it did ok. I would like to try out the Kraft though, to see if it works any better. Here is your close-up:

It's my turn for this month's challenge, and I have used "Little Artist" that is one of Crissy's newest digital images available from Whimsy Stamps. This little sweetheart has been busy painting the decorations on the trees. The challenge this month is to make a Christmas card with non-traditional colors, and I had just purchased the Saint Nick collection of papers from Fancy Pants, which has wonderful prints using yellow, so here's my take on the non-traditional. Since you are not suppose to use any green or red on your card, I used Pink Smooch to color any red on the dp. For more details about my card please visit my blog here.

Hey everyone Pop's here with my Non Traditional Christmas Card, I loved using these colours together, it gives it a softer look....

I have used a Wags N Whiskers Image for my card Zoe and Gemma's Snow Fun she has been printed on to Neenah Card and coloured with Copics and Pencils, the papers are also digital Nitwits called Still Joyful Hearts and I have distressed all the edges and added some stars and a sentiment, then gone a bit mad with the Stardust, you know me and sparkles...

Hello there! I am really happy to share a card with you today! I hope I can inspire you to play along with us this month! Our challenge is to make a Christmas card using non-traditional colours. I used my newly released rubber image, "Sealed With A Kiss" that just came out today in fact.
Hey, didn't I do good? Look ma, no red or green, heh-heh! And just in case you thought this was a winter card and not a Christmas card, here's the inside to prove it, heh-heh.

The theme of this month's challenge is CHRISTMAS CARDS USING UNTRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS COLOURS. I did use one of Crissy's new images called SHARING THE WARMTH but had a bit of an accident with it so decided to use this gorgeous image called GIFT HORSE which I have to say is one of my favourite images.

Hi everyone, it's my turn to show my card, or should I say 'cards' as I made 2 again. This month's theme is Christmas cards using non-traditional colours, so we'd like you to use something other than red and green. I really couldn't make up my mind what colour to use, so I made one in blue, white and silver, and one in pink, white and silver. This gorgeous reindeer image is called Leap of Joy, and I think the silver touches in the cards do make them quite Christmassy.

Hi Everyone!

I've chosen Crissy's adorable new image "Sharing the Warmth", available from Whimsy Stamps for my card. Aren't they so cute snuggling together for warmth? I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of mice (we grow wheat here in country South Australia, so the grain brings mice plagues - horrid little blighters! But there is no way these cute little snuggle bugs could be the same things! Crissy manages to make EVERYTHING cute!! ;)

My Mum challenged me to go 'purple' (her favourite colour), and I teamed it with 'aqua' (my favourite colour) and this is what I ended up with...

Greetings Stampers!!! It's challenge time again at Sundays With Crissy and this month we would like to see "Christmas Cards Using Non-Traditional Colours". That means no red & green. Now how easy is that?

For this month's challenge I actually inked up some rubber (gasp). I have been so digitally spoiled lately, LOL, but I just love this image Crissy did awhile back for High Hopes Stamps called "Christmas Kitty Fun"!! And seeing as I have two little fur babies that fit this image, that made it all the more fun. So here are Yuki (Japanese for snow) and Willow being themselves, 'cause that's just what my little darlings would do.

I learned how to make this bow from a cool site called Amazing Paper Grace. Becca does some beautiful work & has some fantastic tutorials!! I will leave the link to this one on my blog.

Printed these SUPERB pencil sketch digi's on watercolour paper cuz I was thinking of using Twinkling H20 inks but changed my mind and used primacolor pencils with mineral spirits instead :o) Not perfect but I do like :) How about you???? As you can see I made thank you cards!!!

Good Morning it is my turn to post my card for the Thank you/Thanks giving challenge, here in the U.K. we do not celebrate thanks giving so I have made a Thank You card using the gorgeous Gracie's Roses she is available to buy from Whimsy Stamps HERE as a Digital image.....

I have printed Gracie on to Neenah Card and coloured her with Copic Markers, I have used Kraft Card as a base and for my Leaves and sentiment, the papers are a new set by Nitwits called Grin and Bear it I have distressed all the edges. I have added some Muslin (to be released soon) and my flowers are Curly Roses, Cherry Blossoms, 10mm Open Roses and Tulips, I have added 2 Crown Pins to the flowers and as always Butterflies with Gems and some Stardust...

What a couple of week's this has been! I usually like to have my card and post up and ready in lots of time but unfortunately it hasn't happened this time!

So this month's challenge at SUNDAYS WITH CRISSY is THANKS GIVING or THANK YOU. I hate to be ignorant but I don't know what the celebration Thanks Giving is for! I did think perhaps it was celebrating Indepentance Day but that's the 4th July, then I wondered if it was something to do with the Pilgrim Fathers! So I don't rightly know - so I am sticking with THANK YOU which is far more generic.

Hello to everyone and as this card is posted I will be in the UK ( I hope)most probably freezing as I am always cold there but knowing me well wrapped up.

Today I am going to show you a Thanksgiving card I made for the challenge this month which is THANKS.THANKSGIVING.

I combined two of Chrissys images again, called Turk in Boots and Stuffed Turkey, when I was colouring these images I thought how cool it would be to have Anticipation and Satisfaction on one card so I went with the flow so to speak.

Hello everyone! I was trying really hard to design a Thanksgiving card (as I truly need a few) but as I went through my Crissy images and stamps - Wee Snippet from Whimsy Stamps was begging (and pleading to be colored up!)

Hi everyone! I had originally intended to make a Thanksgiving card, even though we don't actually celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK, for the sole reason that I really wanted to have a go at colouring the wonderful Turk In Boots image that Crissy recently released. But then she went and released some more images and I couldn't resist using this fabby Sugar Pie Honey Bunch, so I've ended up making a simple Thank You card instead.

I made a second card using the same image but printed out in very pale ink, which just gives a different look. For more details about these cards, please visit my blog HERE.

Just click on it and follow the instructions that will pop up. If you don't see it because you are on the main blog page, just go to the top of her post and click on the post title to go to the individual post. It will show up (or it should) then. Please remember, no more than three entries! You have 'til October 31st at noon to play! And you will be entered into the draw for the digi prize no matter what image you use!! Hi Everyone!

Our theme for October is THANKS/THANKSGIVING. That means "Thanks" or "Thanksgiving" cards are welcome for this challenge!

Now we don't celebrate 'Thanksgiving' here in Australia, but I have lots of lovely friends in the US and Canada who do - all of whom I'm very thankful for! (Not to mention that Crissy made such a cute turkey image that I wanted to play with hehe!)

So I've chosen Crissy's "Turk in Boots" image, available from Whimsy Stamps for my 'Thanksgiving' card. Though I think I'm the turkey 'cause I have to admit I actually don't know what colour a turkey is.... So I took a wild-turkey guess and just had fun!

You will notice that Crissy has released some pencil versions of a couple of her images. These images are softer and have more of a vintage look to them. Other places you can find Crissy's rubber & digital stamps are at Wags 'n Whiskers (R&D), Squigglefly (D only) & Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps (R only). High Hopes (R only) carries tons of stamps designed by Crissy (but the artist is not specified--although her art, in my humble opinion, is pretty unmistakeable ☺--if you have any questions about Crissy's HHS images just email us or leave us a comment and we will respond.)
