Challenge #12 Christmas is Coming or Winter is Here- Patricia's Turn
I went with this most adorable image "Touched By Love" By Crissy Armstrong available at Whimsy Stamps. I colored my image with Copic Markers, I left my card rather simple, sometimes a little is a lot!!
There's still a few days left so you can submitt your card/project, All cards/project should be submitted HERE on Crissys post, Crissy has changed a few things up this month in regards to prizes..here's what she had to say:
I'm going to do something a little different for blog candy with this month's challenge! In the spirit of Christmas and giving, I am going to give away one digital image to the first 12 players! AND I am opening up the contest to include EVERYONE (not just for those using one of my images)!! So if you are one of the first twelve players to link up your Christmas/winter card on here, you will get your choice of one of my digital images from either Whimsy or Squigglefly! How fun is that! Now to keep it fair, you must make a card specifically for this challenge. Any cards that are "back-linked" will not qualify. And, if you don't make it in the race for top twelve, you can still have a chance to win at the end of this month. I'll still draw a name (using Random.org) from the participants, and that lucky person will get to choose 2 images of their choice from my collection. So what are you waiting for!! Ready, set, get crafting!!
Being later in the month, we have of course far exceeded the first twelve entries, so the "earlybird" prize is no longer up for grabs. However, Crissy will still be giving away two digi images to one lucky participant at the end of the month, plus, our lovely Crissy's Crew member Zoe, owner of Make It Crafty, has added an additional prize for the winner! She will be contributing her brand new digital image "Stairway to Heaven"...it is a gorgeous background digital stamp that would work beautifully with many of Crissy's images!
I would like to wish everyone a Happy New year and the Best for 2011!!
Blessings,
Patricia

Challenge #12--Christmas is Coming! or Winter is Here!--Sarah's Turn
Now on to the challenge!! This month at Sundays With Crissy the challenge is two-pronged. You can either choose the theme "Christmas is Coming" or "Winter is Here". Since Christmas is a thing of the past for 2010 and we are now looking forward to the New Year, I thought a wintery card would do well.
Here's my version of Crissy's Wags 'n Whiskers image "Zoe & Gemma's Snow Fun"!! I was going to put a "Let It Snow" sentiment on this card but just couldn't bring myself to do it. My city saw Old Man Winter come with full force in early December bringing with him about 3 feet of snow in a 48-hour period!! My daughter had 3 snow days off of school and much of the world around us stood still for a week!! It was very nice to have a slow pace for a change. I didn't have anywhere to be so for me is was also a holiday--a time to hunker down and relax...between snow shoveling sessions that is.
Now for my card...
And the inside, complete with gift card holder pocket...
Now it's not to late to join in the fun--you've got 6 whole days to upload your card following this month's themes!! To upload your card go HERE for instructions.
I am in awe to see that we've broken 100 entries already!! There is a great prize up for grabs this month & here's what Crissy has to say about it...
I'm going to do something a little different for blog candy with this month's challenge! In the spirit of Christmas and giving, I am going to give away one digital image to the first 12 players! So what are you waiting for!! Ready, set, get crafting!!
It's too late to be one of the first twelve players, but it isn't too late to get in on the final draw for two free digis! Zoe, owner of Make It Crafty, has also added an additional surprize for the winner! She is contributing her brand new digital image "Stairway to Heaven". It is a background digital stamp that would compliment Crissy's images beautifully!
Here's what it looks like!! Well that's it for me for another month!! Thanks for stopping by Sundays With Crissy!! Have a wonderful, warm, and restful day!!
Hugs,
Sarah :o)

Challenge #12 Christmas is Coming/Winter is Here...with Melanie
I thought I would sneak in one final Christmas Card this year. I chose to work with one of Crissy's images that she drew for Wags 'n Whiskers Stamps...this is "Steal a Kiss". I adore this cute image, and have been waiting for a chance to use it. It would obviously be perfect for Valentine's Day, but I thought it would also make a cute Christmas card with the addition of a little hand-drawn sprig of Mistletoe! You have to watch out for that stuff you know...people can be pretty sneaky hanging it throughout the house in order to sneak a little kiss! lol The design papers are from Bo Bunny. The "Meet Me Under The Mistletoe" tag is something I found in my stash while I was hunting for an embellishment to fill the upper corner of my layout...how perfect is it for this image?? I love it when that happens! I added some little jingle bells I recently picked up at the dollar store to the bow tied with my Bow-Easy. I thought the little snippets of red ribbon would be just right to tie in the red bow on the mistletoe I drew, as well as the lettering on the tag...now I'm second guessing that colour choice a bit. Red is not a colour I would normally put with purple. Hmmm. Probably won't put them together again. I'm now suffering a bit from that "hindsight is 20/20" syndrome. :) Anybody else ever afflicted with that?? lol
I printed the digital image "Steal a Kiss" on Neenah Smooth Cardstock and coloured it with Copic makers. I also did a little experimenting shading with some old Prismacolour pencils I've had kicking around since my high school years...and no, I'm not going to clarify how long that's been, lol. ;) I used some baby oil and a paper blending stump after I was finished using my markers...it's really important to colour with your markers first, as you will ruin the nibs if you try colouring over pencil crayon. (However, don't fret if you should happen to ruin a nib, as they are replaceable. It's just an extra expense that is nice to avoid if possible.) I sponged around the image with Bundled Sage and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. I also added some additional shading with a brown Prismacolour pencil, and blended it out with the baby oil.
We'd love to have you join in with our challenge this month! All projects can be submitted on Crissy' Post ...just look for the Blue Inlinkz frog at the bottom of her post. Crissy has changed a few things up this month in regards to prizes....here's what she had to say:

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!! May you enjoy this time with loved ones, and create memories to treasure in the years to come as we celebrate this wonderful season...the day that we remember the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. As we remember His humble arrival in that stable so many years ago, may you experience the peace, hope and love this season brings.
God Bless!

Christmas is coming or Winter is here with Zoe again!
I'm filling in for the marvelous Mary this month however I am sorry to say I have not filled her shoes as well as I would have hoped. This was one of those projects where all the awesome ideas were there though unfortunatey, what I had pictured didn't quite happen.
I had set out to make a PINK mini Christmas card for a baby girl experiencing her first Christmas, although I am not sure if it is festive enough though it does show the versatility of the gorgeous 'Touched by Love' image available from Whimsy Stamps. I can see this image also being used for new baby cards.

Chistmas or Winter with Zoe
Hi Everyone,
Well the time has come where I can share my card I have made for Sundays with Crissy this month. The challenge is 'Christmas is Coming or Winter is Here' which of course is a perfect time to come play and make those last minute Christmas cards!
Some of you may have seen a little preview of the image, 'Little Christmas Angel' I coloured for this challenge when I posted a video of me colouring from start to end the other day. If you missed it click here!
Here is a close up of the image

And Crissy doesn't know it and I didn't either until I started writing this line, but because I know a little secret of what I have coming up in my collection I am going to throw in a special digi image from my new release that I know will work beautifully with the gorgeous angels Crissy illustrates. (ok so I had to confirm with Crissy before posting. heehee)

Challenge #12-Chrismas is Coming! or Winter is Here!
I'm trying for that last push to get my Christmas cards done on time this year (you too?) so this theme will help us all do that. If you're done your Christmas stash (or if you don't do Christmas cards) then a winter card will be fine for this challenge.
I've got the inlinkz option at the bottom of this post where you can link up your card.
I'm going to do something a little different for blog candy with this month's challenge! In the spirit of Christmas and giving, I am going to give away one digital image to the first 12 players! I've made both these computer generated cards using my new pre-coloured digi's for Whimsy Stamps in combination with some beautiful digital frames by Raindrop Echo Designs. The deer card uses Ann's Winter Curvy Frame and the angel card uses Curvy Frame Small Dots. This is taking digital images to the max (my opinion!) because everything was done on computer. It takes awhile to get the template made, but once you do, they are a cinch to print off. To me, this is the perfect solution to making large quantities of cards. If you want more details, visit my personal blog.
The deer image is "Leap of Joy" and the angel image is "Touched by Love". Both images are also sold as un-coloured digi's, as usual. Here they are Leap of Joy Touched by Love
Now here are the cards f rom challenge that I think qualified for my Artist's Choice Award! I hope you pick up your trophy (on the right side bar) to display on your own blogs ladies! Congratulations to the following outstanding artists (in no particular order:
17. Ellie
23. Mary Lou
18. True :D
14. Tina

Red, Green & Gold ~ Vintage Christmas Angel
I also love the little bird she is holding ~ I've colored him to look somewhat like a baby cardinal to coordinate with our theme. The angel wings and red card stock were embossed in my Textile Texture Cuttlebug embossing folder and I then added a small amount of gold glitter to the bottom of the angel wings.
l hope you will join us for this challenge. We've got an awesome prize this month (pictured below) brought to us by our wonderful sponsor ~ LSL Diversified. All the details can be found on Crissy's original post HERE. The deadline is November 30th.
