Hello it's me Patricia and it's my turn to share here at Sunday's with Crissy with our fabulous challenge "Sparkle and Shine". I chose Crissys adorable image "Rose Butterfly" available at Whimsy Stamps.
I colored my image with Copic Markers, I wanted to go with some deep colors and I really liked how it turned out. I left my card with very little embellishments because I really want the focal point to be the gorgeous butterfly!!
We'd love to see your Sparkle and Shiny creations using one of Crissy's Digital Stamps! (you can find them at Whimsy Stamps, Squigglefly Stamps or Wags 'n Whiskers Stamps) You can link it up here at Sundays With Crissy on THIS post, and if your project features one of Crissy's images then you will be eligible to win this month's prize, easy right??
Hugs,Patricia

Challenge #9--Sparkle & Shine--Meowy Christmas To YOU!!!
Happy Sunday!! It's Sarah here and it's my turn to share some "Sparkle and Shine" for this month's challenge!! I chose Crissy's sweet image "Angelicat" from Squigglefly for my cards this time. I used Copics to colour my images and then added glue and glitter to the wings and halos; which unfortunately doesn't show up at all in these pics like in real life. I also used Bazzil Bling paper, which has an iridescent finish, and silver foil paper, to add some shine to my cards.
If you want more info on these cards just click on my link above. If you want to see what the rest of our design team has been up to this month just scroll down to see their fabulous projects.
There is also time for YOU to enter your own SPARKLE & SHINE project for this month's challenge. You can do that by clicking -->here. There's also some yummy candy up for grabs too if you enter using one of Crissy's digi images for your project. To see the prize click on the above link.

Trimming the Tree!
Well, good morning friends! You may have noticed that we've had a few changes here at Sundays With Crissy. We have recently made the switch to becoming a monthly challenge blog, with each new challenge being announced on the first day of each month by the lovely Crissy Armstrong. We have also made a change in the posting schedule. Each talented member of Crissy's Crew now has her own scheduled day to post at Sundays With Crissy, as well as posting on her personal blog. This way, we hope to provide you with some inspiration throughout the month to join in with our challenge. As always, there will be a fantastic prize up for grabs for those participants who have used one of Crissy's digital images! Crissy will include the "inlinkz" on her initial post of the month, so make sure to link up all your projects for our challenge THERE...just look for the little blue froggy at the end of her post.
Today is my turn to share a card for Crissy's current "Sparkle and Shine" challenge. I chose to work with one of Crissy's recently released images at Whimsy Stamps. This is "Trimming The Tree". How cute is this little pair? I struggled a bit trying to capture the tone of a polar bear's fur. It's got quite a yellow hue to it in real life, but my first attempt at replicating it was what you might call an"Epic Failure", lol. Good thing I printed this image a few times! This is my second attempt, and I still think I need some work on this colour of fur, but it is much closer to an actual polar bear than my first go! Can you spy all the glittery elements on my card? The pretty swirly DCWV paper is from a glitter Christmas stack. The garland on the tree was jazzed up with some Martha Stewart glitter in Pewter. The star, tree decorations and the trim on the penguin's hat were all coated with Stardust Stickles. The candy canes were coated with Glossy Accents...I know this isn't "glittery" but it sure adds a nice shine to them! (The sentiment is from High Hopes Stamps, and was mounted on a Spellbinders Fancy Tag.)

Sparkle & Shine and Life's Lessons
Shiver me timbers, it be time for a new post at Sundays With Crissy!! Sorry, I couldn't resist . . . Happy International Talk Like a Pirate Day! If you're interested, here's a link to everything you've ever wanted to know about this fun day.
Awwwww --
Now who could possibly be angry at this adorable little face ~ even after she's chewed up your Jimmy Choos!!? You can almost hear her saying ... I'm too cute to be angry at ~ I love you!
This cutie, illustrated by Crissy and appropriately named Miss Innocent, is a new release this month and available for immediate download at Whimsy Stamps. I thought she would be perfect for our Sparkle and Shine challenge since she seems to be a perfect "little princess"!
Although, you may be wondering just what exactly do Life's Lessons have to do with this cutie??!! Well, one of my all-time favorite lists of Life's Lessons is this one . . .
*Note, No. 10 is a tough one, but VERY applicable to this cutie!
I thought it would be fun to include this list with Miss Innocent on an easel style card that the recipient could display and be reminded of these lessons.
So, I hope you will join us for this challenge ~ there's still plenty of time left! All the details can be found in Crissy's original post HERE.
Avast me Hearties ~ have a great day . . . or walk the plank!!!

Sparkle and Shine with Maria
Woohoo, it's Friday and it's my turn, Maria, to share my creation for this month's 'Sparkle and Shine' challenge! I've used the Snuzzle Love digital image, available exclusively at Wags 'n Whiskers, and coloured this sweet image with Copics. Snuzzle Love is so versatile that she can be used for so many different occasions. Card was embellished with Prima flowers that sparkle and shine along with a rhinestone butterfly and I just couldn't resist adding rhinestone earring cause you know you're never too young for bling ~ hehehe.
Don't forget to join us for the challenge and be sure to link up your entry HERE. One participant who uses any of Crissy's images on their creation could be the lucky winner of the fabulous prize package from our generous sponsor LSL Diversified.

Sparkle and Shine with Zoe
Hi everyone!!
It just so happens that today is my day to share a little "Sparkle and Shine" inspiration with you.
I am one that likes a challenge and I like to put myself in situations where I need to work out the solution. Where is all this going? Candles!! I am seeing all these absolutely stunning candles people are making and I wanted to make them too!
So after reading a number of tutorials and then watching how easy it was time and again on YouTube I was off to the local supermarket to pick up some cheap candles. Boy was THAT a mistake. I tried and tried and as soon as I took the heatgun to the candle it would turn into a puddle of wax. Five candles later... I went back to YouTube, watched more videos. These ladies made it all sound and look so easy. My candles were NOT doing that!
Undefeted, I decided it must be the candles! Off I went to find better candles. I figured if I spent a little more money maybe they would have longer burning wax.
Yes! That was definitely part of the problem. :) They still aren't perfect and I definitely need practice but it's a start. :)
I did come up with a tricky idea though! Using the stunningly gorgeous Daisy Butterfly digi stamp exclusive at Whimsy Stamps meant that I needed to tape down the tissue paper onto paper to put through the printer. My first attempt at this wasn't ideal because the tissue paper slightly lifted off the page in the centre and smudged. Sitting there thinking about it I noticed my roll of masking paper. Lightbulb moment!! So I carefully applied the tissue paper to the masking paper and then put it through the printer. It was flat, no creases and came out perfect. It also made it so much easier to cut around and it was easy to peel off.
I prettied up the candles with some rhinestones and ribbon and I made some sparkly butterfly charms and gems to add my sparkle and shine.
I hope I have inspired you to try something new that you have been wanting to try and if it doesn't quite go as planned don't give up!
Remember to enter your project in this months challenge to add it to the inlinkz found on Crissy's post here. We wont be able to track entries added to our individual posts.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Hugs and take care

These Three Remain
With today being a holiday, I hope you'll have time to get some crafting done and get in a challenge or two. It's time for a new challenge over at Sunday's With Crissy!! We've got something new going on with the challenges. From now, we will be having challenge posted on the FIRST DAY of the month and instead of having all of the cards from the DT being posted to one long post, we are each taking a day in the month to post our creation on the Sunday's with Crissy challenge blog. (Hope that makes sense)
This month's challenge is to create a card using Sparkle and Shine. As soon as I saw this beautiful butterfly, I knew that it was the perfect image for this challenge. The name of this beauty is called These Three Remain.
It really reminds me of a cross between vintage and whimsical.... if that makes any sense. LOL
I love the message on the wings too. Look closely and you'll see the words Faith, Hope and Love. This image can be purchased at Whimsy Stamps. For the sparkle and shine, I've used stickles on the pink borders of my card as well as in various areas on the butterfly.
Should you participate in the challenge, you will have until midnight September 30th to enter, and of course we need to see that sparkle and shine. You will also be uploading your creations to this post HERE. I hope that you'll join us!! Have a great day!

#9 Sparkle and Shine!
Edit Added (see below the piccy of Crissy's card):
Hi Precious Peeps!
Hi Precious Peeps!
My challenge for you this month is "Sparkle and Shine". We pretty much already make our cards sparkle and shine most of the time, so you have no excuse to not join in! :-)
As usual, I have some blog candy up for grabs, sponsored by the wonderful online store, LSL Diversified. Since they are only online (not brick and mortar) they can keep their prices low. I have ordered from them many times now, and am I ever impressed! They have the lowest Copic prices I have found in Canada - $5.50 per each sketch marker!
And great sales every week too. Also, if you don't see what you want in her catalogue, she'll try to order it in for you!
Not only are her prices low, the service is exceptional. I have ordered and received my packages from her within three business days. Of course that would be different for U.S. or International orders.
Here is a word from Lora of LSL Diversified:
Hi my name is Lora Sinkler-Lake and I am the owner of the on-line store LSL Diversified. I am offering a variety of products at a great price and would love to have you pop by for a visit. Customer service is a top priority for me so if there is something you would like to see please feel free to ask. Check back often as new lines arrive almost weekly.
Here is a piccy of the beautiful blog candy Lora is offering from her fine store today:
Now I have another change to announce about how we are going to run the challenge blog. You may have noticed I have been making some adjustments as we go along. Up til now I have been adding all the designer's creations in one post. Well from now on, we are going to be making individual posts for each member of Crissy's Crew to be posted throughout the month. However, in this post I am featuring Michele's card too.
Also, I will be posting on the FIRST OF EVERY MONTH from now on, announcing the challenge for that month. Stay tuned throughout the month to see what each of my ten designers on Crissy's Crew has to offer to inspire you for this challenge! You won't want to miss it!

My initial post announcing the new challenge will have the "inlinkz" option for you to upload a link to your creation. But all month long, you will be able to see the creations of each of my design team members, to inspire you along the way!
Please always use the "inlinkz" option found on my post only, and do not add any links to cards in the comment sections on any future posts.
Now let's start with our Guest Designer Michele Spera's card. She used "Say a Prayer" from the digital line at Wags 'N Whiskers. Didn't she do a great job colouring my image and adding some sparkle and shine! I just love her colour choices, and the shine she got on the angel's hair. Great job, Michele! EDIT:
I forgot to let you know that I have altered my original sketch of the butterfly in Photoshop. The original Whimsy sells has a few more decorative things on the wings, leaves actually. I wanted a larger space for the paint to flow and so I brought the image into Photoshop, selected the eraser tool, and erased the lines that made the leaves. I want to encourage you, that if you purchase one of my images, I give you full permission to alter it, remove lines, add lines, layer it with other images from other companies, flip it, resize it, really anything you want to do with it, the sky's the limit.

You can't see it well, but I put gold stickles all over the outer edge of the main layer and the swirls for my sparkle, and the rhinestone flourish is my shine. :-)
The butterfly image is one of my creations for Whimsy and it is one of my latest digital images. I called it, "These Three Remain". I called it that because I have the words, "faith, hope and love" on the wings of the butterfly. And one of my favourite verses in the Bible is, "1 Corinthians 13:13
and now there doth remain faith, hope, love -- these three; and the greatest ofthese [is] love.
I printed These Three Remain onto water colour paper and I painted it using my Tim Holtz Distress inks, for a nice change. I got a plastic palette, and just smudged the ink pad directly onto it to create a "pool" of ink. And just used water colour techniques to paint. I got a lot of nice texture in the wings by using a lot of water and dragging my ink filled brush across it in a striped fashion. You can see the effect of this esp. on the wing on the left. I just love how using water colour gives unexpected results!
Something I'm not too happy about is the photo: I find reds and purples the hardest to photograph because the shades never show up correctly. The ribbon and roses actually do match the main image! The photo distorted the shades quite a bit. Oh well!
And now I would like to announce the winners of my Artist Choice Award from Challenge #8!
All four of you get to grab the "Artist's Choice Award" trophy badge from my side bar, and display it on your blog! Thanks for playing along and for making such eye catching creations!
And now, the winner of the blog candy from Challenge # 8, chosen by Random Integer Generator is... drum roll please...
